A private wilderness retreat in the Hunter Valley Hinterland

Wildwood Lodge sits on its own private acre in the Hunter Valley Hinterland, deep within 300 hectares of wilderness that has never been developed. The wildlife here is genuinely wild. The views go forever.

The Experience

Days at Wildwood have their own rhythm. Coffee on the deck as the mist lifts over the valley. Wildlife at your door. Long lunches that stretch into long evenings. A soak in the private spa as the sun sets over the mountains.

This is what it feels like to truly get away.

Wildlife at the wilds retreat. Two kangaroos embracing on a grassy hill with a hilly landscape and trees in the background.

The Lodge

Thoughtfully renovated in an elevated country aesthetic — warm timber, natural linens, layered textures. Three bedrooms sleeping up to eight, an open-plan living area oriented entirely around the view, and a large deck that blurs the line between inside and out.

Beautiful and genuinely liveable without being precious.

Wildwood balcony and outdoor lounge. A balcony with a green sectional sofa, a small coffee table with wine glasses and snacks, and string lights, overlooking trees at sunset.

The Resort

Wildwood sits within a 300-hectare wilderness resort where the adventure extends well beyond your private acre. Swim in the saltwater pool, kayak the freshwater lagoon, play tennis, explore 30 kilometres of bush walking and mountain bike trails, or venture into the sub-tropical rainforest. A games room, children's playground and shared BBQ facilities mean there's something for every member of the group.

The wilderness is your backyard. There's no shortage of ways to fill a day — or reasons to do nothing at all.
